I always had visions of taking my kids up to North Georgia to go apple picking in the fall. I imagined a lovely car ride enjoying the scenery, happy children picking apples in a lovely orchard surrounded by nature, and boiled peanuts, if we were lucky.
This is what we got...
*Two whiney children because we didn't get started early enough due to Cam's tee ball game running late.
* Apples that had been picked over
*Rides and games as far as you could see (where is the nature?)
* Pig Races...What? Don't get me started!
* Boiled Peanuts that we waited for 30 minutes to get and cost our child's college fund to purchase. Sorry Cam, it looks like you are going to community college. They were so worth it:)
At least we were all together and the kids seemed to have good time, aside from being worn out and ready for naps. It looks like I will have to grow my own apple trees to get my ideal apple picking experience.
