I can feed myself, sort of...

Emily, Cam's nanny, let him feed himself spaghetti the other day. She is a brave soul! Here are some pictures from the adventure:)

So Excited!

That spoon is not cutting it!

Much Better!

Needless to say, the next stop was the bathtub!

We are so lucky to have Emily and her little guy Holden stay with Cam during the day. She is so good to him!

He Has Risen!

Easter is my favorite holiday for many reasons.
  • It reminds me of my Grandma Ellen and hunting those gross marshmallow eggs in her backyard in Hartwell (my brothers and sister would re-hide them a million times). Her birthday is also on the 7th of April.
  • It is the beginning of Spring and everything is beginning to come alive again after the winter.
  • It is a holiday without the pressure of gifts and major travel.
  • The biggest reason of all is the meaning of Easter. Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead. That is the coolest thing!
This year we spent Easter at the farm. The boys hunted Easter eggs. We went on a hayride, made our own fishing poles from bamboo, and went fishing in the lake. We also had a yummy meal (not fish:). The weather was gorgeous and I could not have asked for a better day.

Going to get our fishing gear

Aunt Laura and Cash found their lucky pole

Waiting to fish. How cute are they?

Cooper caught 5 fish!

Cam finally got up from his nap. Thanks Nana for staying at the house and listening for him!

Happy Easter!

1 Year Check Up!

We went to the pediatrician today for Campbell's 1 year check up. He is 32 1/4 inches long and 26lbs 5oz. He is in the 50th percentile for your average 22 month old! Needless to say, he is a big healthy boy.
He loves to throw balls, and anything for that matter. He is eating everything, but his favorite is anything sweet (he gets that from his mom). His favorite words are bath, teeth, dog (he will even tell you what the dog says:), da da, and ma ma. His favorite place to be is outside. He is on the verge of walking. He is standing a lot more, but is still a big chicken. He will take a few steps and realize someone is not holding him, and sit down.
He is starting to get his molars and they have not been fun. He has been a bit fuzzy and not napping as well as he has been. I feel so bad for the little guy. Hopefully they will come through soon. He has also been mama attached for the past couple of weeks, and won't go to Matt. I hope it's just a phase, because he is too heavy for mama to carry around for too much longer:).

A Whole New World!

The best part of Cam turning one is that we can finally turn him around in the car. He met the weight requirement a while ago, but we still had to wait till his birthday.
He hated facing backwards in the car and cried almost every time we went anywhere. It was awful! Now that he can face forward, he seems to tolerate trips a little better.

My first trip as a big boy.

It's My Party!

We decided to invite family and a few friends to come celebrate Campbell's birthday on Saturday. The weather was gorgeous and Campbell had a great time being the center of attention.

Cash testing out the food

Nana and I decided to make his cake. Not too bad for someone who doesn't bake!

If you are born on St. Patrick's Day, you have to have a shamrock cake, right?

Every time they sing Happy Birthday, I get something good to eat:) I could get use to this!

Is cake a food group?

Tucker is helping him out:)

He was not happy when we decided he had enough (almost 1/2 the cake). In fact, as I was bathing him, he was eating little bits and pieces that were falling into the water. Gross!

We all had such a great time. Happy First Birthday Big Man!

It's my birthday!

I cannot believe that I am a parent of a toddler! My little baby has turned into a little boy and I cannot help but wonder when this happened. I feel like we just brought him home from the hospital yesterday and now we are celebrating his first birthday.

We decided to get Cam out of bed a little early this morning to celebrate his special day. We sang Happy Birthday and had muffins. As you can tell from the picture he cared more about the muffin than the song.

trying to get a picture before he devours it

Happy Birthday to Me!

Later on that night we went over to celebrate with his cousins. We sang again and this time he got to eat his first cupcake. He kept signing for me to feed it to him because he did not like to touch the icing. It took a while, but he warmed up.

Standing: 1 Cam: 0

If he wasn't that big on standing and walking (without holding on to someone or something)before, the big strawberry in the middle of his forehead probably sealed the deal. He has his momma's coordination, I'm afraid. Walking unassisted is overrated, right?
